Human Rights Network, Newsletter, and Monitoring
Upon the initiative set by ASK in December 2000, KHRO organized several meetings
for organizations and individuals interested in human rights in Kurdistan. These
meetings took place on February 9 and 15, and March 11, 2001. The participants
agreed to meet regularly to discuss issues related to human rights and find
means to improve the current situation.
In January, KHRO, with the assistance of ASK, issued the first issue (No. 1
Winter 2001) of The Voice of Human (Dengi Mirov), a newletter about human rights,
in Kurdish and Arabic. Five hundred copies of the 18-page newsletter were printed
and distributed to the government, non-government institutions, and the media.
