Art and Literature Competition

ASK launched the Badlisy Competition for Art and Literature. The chosen topic was Democracy and Peace in Kurdistan. ASK cooperated with the Badlisy Cultural Center in Sulaymania and Bait Sharfkhan Batlisy in Arbil. On February 25, 2001 the organizers announced the competition. The competition was geared towards artists and authors under the age of 35. There were more than 100 participants in the two activities. May 3rd was set as the deadline for the submission of art and literature. Mr. Ali Kareem (in Sulaymania) acted as supervisor of the Art competition while Dr. Farhad Peerbal (in Arbil) acted as the supervisor of the Literature competition.

On May 16, 2001, with the presence of the PUK Government and about 80 others, a celebration was held in Sulaymania to announce the winners of the art competition. The winners were:

The Art exhibit was open for the public until May 18th.

On May 22, 2001, with the presence of the KDP Government and about 60 others, a celebration was held in Arbil to announce the winners of the literature. The winners were:
